The LR Rides alone!

Big day today!  The lovely LR came down with her clueless mum, I was pleased to see them and pleased to see she had brought her helmet.  I was happy for her to bring me in, tack me up and take me into the school for a ride.  This was the first time she has ridden me without Jade being there. We did some trotting, a bit of cantering, not much and not for long but it was a great start and I think she is starting to trust me now.  She gave me lots of cuddles and a big arm rounder lying on my back.  I think this means we are friends.  She said she was going away for a few days to see her mum's mum but that she would be back as soon as possible.  Can't wait.

The day before she had ridden me as part of a group lesson with the other  little ponies (they are a bit annoying to be honest) but i was proud to have her as my rider.  I did my best over the jumps and maybe I did a bit much as she seemed really surprised how high i jumped!  I think  i might have overdone it, but that's how i like to jump so hopefully she'll get used to it.  it's fun.  Maybe that's why she didn't jump me today...  we'll work it out.

PS i have some bites on my haunches from that Tangle pony they put in my field on tuesday.  I've let her alone now because she's been hassled enough and she can certainly nip!  The LR was concerned bless her but they don't really hurt.

Today she visited me twice.  This morning I was pleased to see that she came on her own to get me without her clueless mum - she watched from the gate.  I like seeing her cos she gives me treats and cuddles but when she showed me the bridle i told her 'no thanks'.  But she got bossy and so I let her put it on, and the saddle too.  I wish she'd ridden me actually, I was all set but she said she needed her helmet. Huh.  Never mind, we had a bit of a lame jog around the school but I'm well up for a ride next time.

In the afternoon they put that new pony, Tangle, in our field.  The cheek!  I've been eying her up for a couple of weeks actually, she's been in the next field on her own. We had fun hassling her all afternoon, chasing her around.  She's ok really, but she needs to know who's boss.  LR came to see me again, she had a friend with her, but I was busy chasing Tangle.  Would have been nice to hang out with her, but hey, another time.

Extra Visit

Another visit from the lovely LR.  I wasn't expecting it as my other loaners had been in the morning but it was a nice surprise.  The weather is so gentle at the moment, it puts me in a gentle mood and she is learning how I like to be caught (lots of pony nuts!).  I like seeing her now.  She groomed and made a fuss over me.

The lovely LR (see, I am really liking her now!) came down again - just for a bit.  She brought me in (her mum distracted Chae ha ha!) and just groomed and fed me, and it was nice.  Looking forward to doing some more stuff soon, but see that she's just getting to know me at the moment.  I think she is very pleased with her t-shirt - she has been to something called a 'festival'.  Sounds wierd to me.

Yay! she came down today and I was pleased to see her.  She is getting really confident with me so I am more relaxed.  She took me in, tacked me up and then we had a good ride round the school as Jade was giving her a lesson on me.  It was fun - she is a really good rider.

I have a bit of a reputation as being 'naughty' in the yard, but it's a bit unfair.  I am just out for a bit of fun sometimes, not like those half asleep ponies.  I have a best friend called Chae and we love to be together and sometimes make a bit of mischief but nothing bad.  When I was young I had a horrible experience when I was inside a stable and really hurt myself.  So now I hate stables and have to be outside all the time.  Show me a horse box and I just shudder. Yuck.

Well the LR turned up again today - I was secretly pleased, as I was a bit uncertain whether she would after yesterday. It was really windy still but not raining, so I was in a better mood. The LR helped Jade give some lessons to the little ones, putting out jumps.  Then Jade showed her how to catch me (you don't mess with Jade!), and I had a nice time being groomed, and eating hay.  Jade helped the LR tack me up, and I am really warming to her now.  She didn't ride me though, not sure why - she says she didn't have a helmet so she couldn't, but I'm hardly going to throw her off am I?  They seem very fussy about that rule though.  She put me back in the field - hope she comes again soon.

Grooming Kit

At least the Loan Ranger has bought the right kit - I really like the sparkly brush.  Her mum was moaning that she had gone in for a £3 hoof pick and come out having paid £18 for all these things that were a mystery to her.  Doesn't she know the importance of grooming? Maybe not, looking at her, she doesn't have a mane or tail herself.  The LR has a short mane but doesn't look like she has the right grooming kit....  her mum should take her to the shop to buy her a brush too.

Grumpy weather...

Horrid horrid day today.  Windy and wet.  The girl who rode me last week turned up - apparently she is loaning me!  I don't remember being consulted.  Was in a grumpy mood due to the weather so I'm afraid I was a bit moody with her.  I made her work to catch me, (she had to ask for help) and when she brought me I'm not proud but i even stood on her foot at one point.  I don't think she was happy.  She is a plucky thing though, fair play to her coming down in the rain, and she tried to put my tack on but I just wasn't up for it.  I know I was being difficult but I suppose I was sort of testing her cos I don't know her at all.  I tried to break free and she decided to put me back in the field.  I can see I worried her, I wasn't what she was expecting. think I like her though, I hope I haven't put her off completely.  I hate this weather.
